Patterns of Forest Species Association in a Broadleaf Forest in Romania

چکیده

Ecological patterns of species distribution can reveal essential information on the spatial and functional relationship between or their environment. Various approaches be used to assess associations, our study aimed compare three methods at different scales: co-occurrence indices for binary presence–absence data, principal component analysis (PCA) abundance point process analysis. Our goal was gain a deeper understanding species’ notice if capture roughly same trends. observational analysed sapling community displayed several positive relationships (e.g., association ash linden). However, many were inconsistent across scales. Furthermore, attraction more prevalent than repulsion. Overall, there is trend, with being significantly all This trend consistent other recent studies tree–species interaction. Nonetheless, results suggest that scale influences associations. Positive associations tend larger scales, while negative are commonly found smaller regardless method used. While PCA less consistent, allowed us detect refined based distance In addition, provided solid results, coarser perspective but sampling effort.

Species Diversity of Trees and Forest Floor Plants in Oriental beech Forest Types of Shastkalate Educational and Research Forest, Gorgan)

Trees are the most important biological elements of forest ecosystems. The variability of the tree species composition inhabiting in the Oriental beech forest, not only forms different forest types but also has a remarkable impact on the species diversity of forest floor plants, due to the existence of trees in the overstory layer. In this research, forest types of an an Oriental beech were ide...

Residual trees injury assessment after selective cutting in broadleaf forest in Shafaroud

In the Shafaroud forest, logging operation is generally performed by using selective cutting methods. Chainsaw and cable skidder are two main forest machines for harvesting of this forest. However, forest harvesting operations result in serious residual stand damage during felling, winching and skidding operations in this forest. Residual stand damage resulting from selective cutting was asses...

Chemical Investigation of Wood Tree Species in Temperate Forest in East-northern Romania

A quantitative evaluation of wood chemical components for some tree species in a forest area from east-northern Romania is presented here, through a comparative study from 1964 to 2000. Investigation upon the wood tree-rings in a Quercus robur L. tree species, as a dominant species, as regards its chemical composition and structure of the natural polymer constituents cellulose and lignin was al...

Mixed-Forest Species Establishment in a Monodominant Forest in Central Africa: Implications for Tropical Forest Invasibility

BACKGROUND Traits of non-dominant mixed-forest tree species and their synergies for successful co-occurrence in monodominant Gilbertiodendron dewevrei forest have not yet been investigated. Here we compared the tree species diversity of the monodominant forest with its adjacent mixed forest and then determined which fitness proxies and life history traits of the mixed-forest tree species were m...
